Ghazal 219

کنون که در چمن آمد گل از عدم به وجود
بنفشه در قدم او نهاد سر به سجود

بنوش جام صبوحی به نالهٔ دف و چنگ
ببوس غبغب ساقی به نغمهٔ نی و عود

به دور گل منشین بی‌شراب و شاهد و چنگ
که همچو روز بقا هفته‌ای بود معدود

شد از خروج ریاحین چو آسمان روشن
زمین، به اختر میمون و طالع مسعود

ز دست شاهد نازک‌عذار عیسی‌دم
شراب نوش و رها کن حدیث عاد و ثمود

جهان چو خلد برین شد به دور سوسن و گل
ولی چه سود که در وی نه ممکن است خلود

چو گل سوار شود بر هوا سلیمان‌وار
سحر که مرغ درآید به نغمهٔ داوود

به باغ، تازه کن آیین دین زردشتی
کنون که لاله برافروخت آتش نمرود

بخواه جام صبوحی به یاد آصف عهد
وزیر ملک سلیمان، عماد دین، محمود

بود که مجلس حافظ به یمن تربیتش
هر آن چه می‌طلبد جمله باشدش موجود

Now that in the meadow the rose has come from non-being into being,
the violet has laid its head at her feet in prostration.

Drink the morning cup to the wail of tambourine and harp;
kiss the cupbearer's chin to the melody of flute and lute.

In the season of the rose do not sit without wine, beauty and harp,
for like the days of our stay it is a week that is numbered.

With the coming forth of the sweet herbs the earth has grown bright
as the sky, under a blessed star and a fortunate ascendant.

From the hand of a beauty of tender cheek and the breath of Jesus
drink wine, and leave aside the story of Ad and Thamud.

The world has become like highest paradise in the season of lily and rose,
but what use is it, since no abiding is possible in it?

When the rose rides upon the air like Solomon,
at dawn, when the bird comes in with the song of David,

In the garden renew the rites of the Zoroastrian faith,
now that the tulip has kindled the fire of Nimrod.

Call for the morning cup to the memory of the Asaf of the age,
the vizier of Solomon's kingdom, Imad al-Din Mahmud.

May it be that the assembly of Hafez, through the blessing of his care,
finds present everything that it asks for.
