Ghazal 407: I saw the green field of the sky and the sickle of the new moon

I saw the green field of the sky and the sickle of the new moon;
I remembered what I myself had sown, and the time of harvest.
I said: O fortune, you slept, and the sun has risen.
It said: for all that, do not despair of what was given before.
If you go to the sky pure and unburdened like the Messiah,
a hundred rays will reach the sun from your lamp.
Do not lean on the star that thieves by night, for that trickster
carried off the crown of Kavus and the belt of Kay Khosrow.
Though the earring of gold and ruby weighs heavy on the ear,
the season of beauty is passing: listen to advice.
May the evil eye be far from your mole, for on the field of beauty
it moved a pawn that won the stake from moon and sun.
Tell the sky not to trade on this grandeur, for in love
the harvest of the moon goes for one barleycorn, the cluster of the Pleiades for two.
The fire of asceticism and hypocrisy will burn the harvest of religion;
Hafez, throw off this woollen cloak and go.
Interpretation of the fal
It is time to think about what you have sown: you will reap exactly that. If an opportunity has been lost, do not despair: there is still hope. Do not rely on luck and the stars, and go forward light and clean. Beauty and rank pass, and are worth nothing beside love. Give up pretence, which harms you more than anything else.
