Ghazal 13: Dawn is breaking and the cloud has pitched its canopy

Dawn is breaking and the cloud has pitched its canopy;
the morning cup, the morning cup, O companions!

Dew is dripping on the face of the tulip;
wine, wine, O friends!

From the meadow blows the breeze of paradise;
come, drink pure wine moment by moment.

The rose has set up an emerald throne in the meadow;
reach for wine like a fiery ruby.

They have shut the tavern door again;
open it, O Opener of doors!

Your lip and teeth have the rights of salt
over souls and breasts that are roasted.

It is strange that in a season like this
they should shut the wine house in haste.

To the face of the fairy-formed cupbearer,
drink pure wine as Hafez does.

Interpretation of the fal

A new morning has come and it is a time for gladness and for beginning. Do not let the chance slip or put things off until tomorrow. If a door has been closed on you, do not be anxious; ask God, the Opener of doors. The closure is temporary and relief is near.
